Ok!! You have a new tattoo! You're at leat 8% cooler than you were before that newest addition!
You rock, but you have questions.
When is the best time to start moisturizing your tattoo?
When can you get back to your sexy smooth self?
As a rule I say once all of your major peeling and flaking has finished you are ok to go ahead and start using lotion on the area again.
(Something to keep in mind at this point in the healing is that some lines or colour may seem cloudy or perhaps have a pearly look sitting on top of them. That happens and will go away. So dont fret and carry on reading!)
When using lotion on your new tattoo, until it is completely healed, do not over saturate it with product. Make sure you are using an appropriate amount and are never leaving excess on top of it.
I try to steer away from lotions with a lot of fragrance just because it can cause irritation to the wound. If you are in a pickle a good rule of thumb is if its bothering you stop - or just don't risk it and pick up the after-care kit the next time you get inked.
You are on your way to a shiny freshy. I will post an update of what that looks like once I get there but until then, enjoy basking in that which is my 7 day old yummy treats!!
